Our Mission
The mission of the Adrian Community Library is to provide media services including printed material as well as computer access with high speed internet and Wi Fi to the Adrian community and surrounding areas.
History
It was in September of 2003, that the Visions 2007 Committee developed goals for a better Adrian which included a public library, along with a swimming pool, sidewalks and a better water system. Three of these goals are completed.

It was in March, 2004, when the Adrian Chamber of Commerce appointed nine members to the Adrian Community Library Board. These members were Don Arndt, Patti Bruto, Julie Gilman, Steve Hubbard, Cindy Kendrick, Steve Oldfield, Patricia Pike, Robby Shephard, and Tim Watts. A 501(c)(3) status was applied for and a goal of $7500 for a computer and software and many donations of bookcases and books started the dream of many citizens in the Adrian area.

On May 13, 2006, the doors were officially opened. The first volunteers were Dorothy Durbin, Patty Hahn, Evelyn Morrow, Dolly Robey and Joyce Walsh.

In January, 2007, the Book Detectives Book Club was organized.

In November of 2013, the building housing the library was purchased making the library a stable part of Adrian's future.

On September 1, 2015, the library began serving as the Adrian Chamber of Commerce office.

On April 5, 2016, the voters, by majority vote, approved to levy a tax on property for the funding of a public library. With these funds and contributions of memorials and donations, Friends of the Library, and fundraisers, the library is being financially supported. Patrons and organizations from Adrian and surrounding areas continue to donate books and equipment increasing the size, scope, and quality of the library's collection.

In 2016, the Adrian Community Library was established with the Missouri State Libraries program.
